Default What I did on my vacation.

I missed the cold wave, as it was in the mid 80s to low 90s where we
were, but I did suffer a bit from claustrophobia during the 22-hour
(including a layover of several hours) return flight.

Did get to see elephants, rhinos, water buffalo, lions and cheetahs, and
many others, but no leopards. Got to swim in the Indian Ocean. Took 400+
photos and a few videos.

Took a short cruise on a lake. This is *not* the video from that cruise:

Sounds like a spectacular time. Video came up blank for me.

Hope you're day is spectacular!

Yes, I kicked almost everyone out of the Filter Septic Tank for the New
Year. Enjoy the fresh air!

That's good. We were on a much smaller boat, and on a lake. No problems.
Our host works for her country's public health service, and travels
around the country for her job, and we got to visit some villages with
her, including Swahilis on the Indian Ocean coast, and Maasai nomadic
camps, too, in the inland areas. Also got out on a two day photo safari.
Lots to see and lots to learn. China has a substantial investment
presence in several parts of the country, which was a surprise to me.
The country has many serious problems, but everyone we encountered was
friendly, and happy to explain some of their culture.

Welcome back, Krause. You didn't miss anything.
Just a little "Let's see if we cam talk abut something when Krause isn't
here."
Didn't go too well.

I didn't read any of the posts put up while I was away, but I did notice
the number of posts seemed to be significantly lower than what passes
for normal around here.

I have noticed, though, that while I haven't insulted anyone here, three
of the "regulars" took it upon themselves to jab at me.

Those regulars are just pleased as punch to see you back.
They didn't have much to say the last week and a half.

I didn't know Busch Gardens had an Indian Ocean ride. I saw all the
other stuff tho ;-)

Actually, and I don't recall why, I've never been to any of the Busch
Gardens-badged parks. I have been to a couple of Sea Worlds, though.
Same owners, right?
