I know for a fact that there are many right-wing bible thumpers in this country who are working hard to push their religious beliefs onto those who believe differently. A good number of those thumpers are politicians. A lot less are pushing their religious belief on others than the group that is forcing their political belief on others. You and your leftists are that group! You should start a thread to discuss your feelings about groups that force their political beliefs on others. Let us know when one of those groups forces you to have an abortion. Those political groups are forcing people who are against abortion, or even those who are against late term abortion to pay for those same abortions. I am not against first term abortion, just late term abortion. But if you can afford to get knocked up, you and the sperm donor can pay for the abortion or morning after pill. If you can afford a pack of cigarettes, you should pay for your cancer treatment. If you are hit by a car, you should pay for your own treatment...or burial. And so on, ad nauseum. Your logic is quite flawed there buddy boy. -- Americans deserve better. |

Those smokers are paying for their cancer treatment. Huge taxes on tobacco. NYC is like $13 a pack, mostly taxes. Getting knocked up is not really an accident. Car crashes are. With the amount of different birth control available, besides an aspirin held between the knees, there should be an extremely small rate of accidental knocking up! Smokers are a smaller draw on societies money than most groups. They die earlier, do not collect Social Security or not for long, and pay huge amount of taxes for the habit. |

Liberals do a lot of talking about how badly conservatives /Christians treat women. But the statement you made says a lot. Being an atheist gives you all the latitude in the world for how you treat women, doesn't it? Nothing you force on them would be contrary to your 'religion'. It's the self-proclaimed christian politician/leader on the soap box passing "christian" legislation that discriminates against women, children, gays, minorities, et cetera, that bothers me. Hey, if you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend as if your hate-filled co-religionists aren't hurting society, go right ahead. After all, you're not the daddy who has to explain to a small child why the draconian christian republican cuts in the SNAP program mean less food on the table and in his or her belly, and that such cuts demonstrate how "pro-life" these christian republican legislators are. -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |

Notice his new news server. By the way, Harry has revealed that the source of his religious hatred stems from his wife's religiosity interfering with his tranquility. Now that we know what his real problem is, I'd like to help him resolve it. I thought of suggesting that he bring it out in the open with her or at least a shrink. But that would probably cause him to be evicted from his basement apartment. I would hate to think of him being holed up at an internet cafe or homeless mission; especially over the holidays.
