Why right-wing religion is doomed...
Wives who arent subservient to husbands are preaching false gospel,
Southern Baptist official warns Married couples who consider themselves equal partners are violating biblical law, according to the Southern Baptist Conventions top expert on family concerns. Russell Moore, president of the denominations ethics and liberty commission, said Christians determine the nature of reality through their family relationships, but he warned that marital closeness can undermine biblical teachings. Often, I think, the gospel is obscured because God has designed a picture of the gospel in the one-flesh union of husband and wife, (and) when that is broken down, you have a false gospel that is being preached, Moore said. He said the Bible instructed Christian women to be subservient to their husbands, who in turn are commanded to be faithful to their wives. Sometimes you have people who are preaching a false gospel to themselves in their homes by men who arent loving their wives as themselves and wives who arent submitting to their husbands, Moore said. That then plays itself out in other ways later on in that persons walk with Christ. Moore also expressed regret over his work as a reporter covering a meeting of a liberal Baptist splinter group that promoted same-sex marriage and other views that deviated from his beliefs. Everything I said was true, and everything I said was accurate, but it was very spiritually dangerous to me because as people started saying, Youre lying, This isnt true, I knew what I was saying was true, but it became an issue where I was on a mission to accuse, Moore said. Moore said that he became caught up in his desire to vindicate himself and be seen as correct, and he succumbed to the temptation to fight Satan with Satan. When we see Satan taking the law of God, accurately diagnosing what it means and accusing with it, he is coming to kill and destroy. What was happening to me was I wanted to win, Moore said. http://tinyurl.com/opzq7am -- What a crock of crap from the American Taliban. Religion: together we can find the cure. |

Personally I think it would ne like marrying my dog but to each his own.. Nobody is making them do it. I do find it ironic that when guys like Harry condemn the US support of middle eastern dictators, they are supporting a theocracy that takes over and pushes women back into the 15th century. Iran is a perfect example. Under the Shah, women had the same rights as men, they could wear western clothes and to "men's work". The people Savak was "oppressing" were the religious fundamentalists who wanted Sharia law and a return to the hijib days. Also ironic that the quest for equal rights to men is really only a couple hundred years old. For eons, women, attached themselves to the hunter/ protector who could get the job done. Still that way in remote tribes, even so not remote tribes. |
