Russell Moore, president of the denomination’s ethics and liberty commission, said Christians determine the nature of reality through their family relationships, but he warned that marital closeness can undermine biblical teachings. “Often, I think, the gospel is obscured because God has designed a picture of the gospel in the one-flesh union of husband and wife, (and) when that is broken down, you have a false gospel that is being preached,” Moore said. He said the Bible instructed Christian women to be subservient to their husbands, who in turn are commanded to be faithful to their wives. “Sometimes you have people who are preaching a false gospel to themselves in their homes by men who aren’t loving their wives as themselves and wives who aren’t submitting to their husbands,” Moore said. “That then plays itself out in other ways later on in that person’s walk with Christ.” Moore also expressed regret over his work as a reporter covering a meeting of a liberal Baptist splinter group that promoted same-sex marriage and other views that deviated from his beliefs. “Everything I said was true, and everything I said was accurate, but it was very spiritually dangerous to me because as people started saying, ‘You’re lying, This isn’t true,’ I knew what I was saying was true, but it became an issue where I was on a mission to accuse,” Moore said. Moore said that he became caught up in his desire to vindicate himself and be seen as correct, and he succumbed to the temptation to “fight Satan with Satan.” “When we see Satan taking the law of God, accurately diagnosing what it means and accusing with it, he is coming to kill and destroy. What was happening to me was I wanted to win,” Moore said. http://tinyurl.com/opzq7am Sounds Muslim. Baptist Talibaners. -- Religion: together we can find the cure. |

The why didn't you do that, Harry? The headline did that. The article that followed simply paid it off. Are you trying to say that it wouldn't be easy to find other Christian right sects and religiously oriented groups that use nonsense and "the bible" to try to control their followers and the general public? Hmm. How about that Catholic group in your state, America Needs Fatima, part of the right-wing American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property. It is linking the tornadoes that hit Illinois last weekend to the states recent approval of a marriage equality bill. God sent tornadoes to Illinois to punish the state for passing a marriage equality bill? What sect(s) comprise the Family Research Council?
