Default Nuclear Option

Just returned home and checked the news.

Following months of threats by Harry Reid, the Senate has exercised the
"Nuclear Option" for presidential appointees except for Supreme Court
nominees. This means a simple majority vote is all that is needed to
affirm nominees rather than the 60 vote majority that has been used for
decades. This virtually eliminates the ability to hold up appointments
with filibusters.

The political wrangling continues.

Watching Mitch McConnell lie and whine about it was priceless.

McConnell was for the nuclear option before he was against it.

Well, of course. It all depends on who controls the Senate and which
side is using the filibuster to hold up appointments. The Dems are
just as guilty as the Republicans, although the Republicans have made
more use of the filibuster of late.

I would say dumb move.. but the republicans probably won't even
retaliate when they beat the **** out of dems in 14... The dems will cry
and promise never to do it again, and the repubs will cave and let it go....

PsychoSnotty is predicting the Republicans will take the Senate in 2014.
Not likely. You can't **** off as many groups as the GOP has and win.

I've been trying to get him to switch to Elmers Glue All, 'cause that stuff he's sniffing now is
doing strange things to his head.
