Is that actually loading a home page or just getting a browser window
without loading a page?
You may be looking at net latency. My Firefox seems to load in less
than 2 seconds going to Privatelee.com as a home page.
Occasionally it takes several seconds tho and when it does you see it
is waiting for the page to load.

For me I just waited for the screen to open. I have google news as home, and that often takes a few
more seconds.
