"I think we need to understand that some of these races don't apply to future races. Every race is different–it has a different set of factors–but I congratulate (Christie) on his win," he told CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash. I've never been a fan of the Big Blowhard from Jersey. He sure as hell isn't doing anything to improve the quality of life of ordinary people in his state, and there are still huge areas untouched by repairs after Hurricane Sandy, with citizens wondering why their governor talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. I don't see Christie doing well in the GOP primary process, but you never know. The Republicans are going to pick one of the Teabagger Boys. Well, the one claim being made that disturbs me is that he is "sitting on" about two thirds of federal aid earmarked for Sandy victims. If true, he has a lot of explaining to do. Prior to his emergence into the spotlight (well, more of a floodlight) I knew nothing about him. I got a kick out of his no-nonsense style initially but I am not quite ready to call him a candidate of choice yet. Need to hear more. |

Meanwhile, it almost sounds like Rand Paul is going to take his football and go home. Good riddance. I have a friend who is a card carrying member of the Tea Party and an apostle of Ted Cruz. We have some interesting conversations. The only thing I can give her credit for is her unwavering belief that the Tea Party *had* to take a stand to stop the accelerating swing to the left in the USA. She has no use for moderate conservatives who have not embraced the Tea Party message. But, we somehow have remained friends and on speaking terms. |

I'd consider voting for Christie, from what I know of him thus far, he seems to be middle of the road, and able to work with both sides. Christie is hardly middle of the road. I see numbers in the mid 20s on objective comparisons but it really gets down to how you define "high school graduate" On one extreme it is only a kid who graduated from a unionized public school in 4 years (9-12) The other extreme includes guys who get GEDs in prison but I don't see any that put Texas at #49.
