I've always admired the looks of level-action rifles, but most of the
"repro" 1873 and 1892 ones I've tried over the years just didn't seem
all that well-made. The Cimarron imports are very nice. The one I
ordered has a 24" barrel. Now I need a six-shooter in 45LC.

There was a time when I was looking at a .44 mag LA but somebody made
me an offer on a Ruger carbine I couldn't refuse and I bought that.

I don't think I have shot more than a half dozen rounds out if it.

I have lost as many rounds as I shot. (trying to unload it in a tree
stand)



Ahh, I won't have that problem. I don't hunt animals. Many of the
Cimarron models are made in Italy by Uberti, a subsidiary of Benelli.
Some other brands are made in South America. There's quite a market,
apparently, for these "old west" repro firearms. Uberti makes its
firearms for at least a half dozen "American" brand name distributors.
For me, it was a toss-up between the .30-30 and 45 Colt cartridge. The
ammo price is pretty much the same, but I'm also interested in a
revolver in 45 Colt.
