Was at a sporting goods store over the weekend and fell for a lever action

rifle, an 1892 Winchester model in 45 LC imported by Cimarron, so I ordered

one. Takes six weeks to get in. Really smooth action. ?

I've always admired the looks of level-action rifles, but most of the

"repro" 1873 and 1892 ones I've tried over the years just didn't seem

all that well-made. The Cimarron imports are very nice. The one I

ordered has a 24" barrel. Now I need a six-shooter in 45LC.

When they were issued back in the '70s, I wished I could afford the
RCMP 100th anniversary Winchester.

I understand there were two versions...

the one offered to serving and retired members of the RCMP which used
serial numbers MPxxxxxx

and the one offered to the general public with serial numbers RCMPxxxxxx

Seems to me they were about 4100.00 more than the garden variety Winchester.

D'oh!
Make that $ 100.00 more.

I've got a Winchester Model 94 30-30 that I want to mount in the trailer,
which has a 'south
western' motif. But my wife doesn't think it's a cool idea. Still working on her.
It's not as pretty as the RCMP version, but it's a good looking rifle.

Probably a very bad idea. With some places you tow through you go to jail
for years for having a firearm. You would probably have to weld the barrel
to be semi legal.
