quietly had gastric lap band surgery several months ago and has lost
some of his gigantic bulk already. Still has a long ways to go, but
in a couple of years he'll look like a new man.

government that we have. He'll brush off Ted Cruz and the Tea Party
like a fly on his lapel and certainly has demonstrated a no nonsense
style of leadership with a willingness to deal with those on the other
side of the aisle.

The question is Hillary. If someone like Cruz gets the nomination it
will be a bloodbath of negative campaigning at personal levels from
both sides .... exactly what we *don't* need any more of. Cruz
will bring out every speck of dirt he can find on her and she'll
reciprocate. As gruff and candid as he is, I think Christie could
maintain some level of respect for her, recognizing that if he wins,
he'll have to work with members of her party.

Christie isn't likely to get through the primary process. If you'll
recall the last man standing before Romney got the nod was Rick
Santorum. The party has moved further to the right. At the national
level, right-wing purity is more important than the ability to win the
presidency.
