Chris Christie running?
No official declaration yet since he is also running for re-election
as New Jersey's governor, but in his classic, no BS style he acknowledged to his Democratic opponent that he can walk and chew gum at the same time if it comes to running for president while governor. Guy is unique. At another point in their debate the Democratic challenger ( State Senator Barbara Buono) said that she will "never, never balance the state budget on the backs of the middle class". Christie responded with, "I know you will never balance the state budget ..... I had to do it for you". Christie leads in the governor's race polling 64 percent to Bouno's 30 percent. It will be interesting if he runs in 2016. Given the mood of the country right now he could give Hillary a serious challenge and he has already distanced himself from the Tea Party crowd. In fact, he never embraced them period. I'd love to see Christie taking on Cruz in primary debates. He'd probably tell Cruz to shove it where the sun doesn't shine. |

He quietly had gastric lap band surgery several months ago and has lost some of his gigantic bulk already. Still has a long ways to go, but in a couple of years he'll look like a new man. He could be exactly what the Dr. ordered to fix the broken system of government that we have. He'll brush off Ted Cruz and the Tea Party like a fly on his lapel and certainly has demonstrated a no nonsense style of leadership with a willingness to deal with those on the other side of the aisle. The question is Hillary. If someone like Cruz gets the nomination it will be a bloodbath of negative campaigning at personal levels from both sides .... exactly what we *don't* need any more of. Cruz will bring out every speck of dirt he can find on her and she'll reciprocate. As gruff and candid as he is, I think Christie could maintain some level of respect for her, recognizing that if he wins, he'll have to work with members of her party. I hope he runs. |

I'd love to get someone in office that can fix this idiotic notion that we have to be either very far left or very far right and no one can be middle ground. That's gotten us in a LOT of trouble the past 12 years |
