I was in DC for a number of those other "shutdowns" (actually just a
procedural appropriations failure) and the reality was NOTHING shut
down. People still came to work and a few political wonks who were
paying attention joked that they were not getting paid but they all
knew they would be.
Nothing really closed except maybe a sign here and there.
It was Bill Clinton who started the whole "shut down the government"
thing,

I've been in and around here for the past 45 years. I've never seen a memorial closed off for other
than maintenance of some sort. They're not guarded, except for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Yeah, the occasional Park Policeman might ride his horse through the area, but that's about it.

Good story, good conclusion.

But what a better way to destroy the USA from the inside than with "just
more debt" for the kids and grand kids.

Fact is people have lost their morals and ethics or they would clearly
see the reason the USA is in economics trouble is because of the debt
robbing futures.

Can't pay your bills with value money but you can bomb them. Good to
see the Syria engineered war has failed for now.

Maybe time to look at the NSA/CIA/Military $1+ trillion budget? No need
for USA to spend more on CIA/military than the other top 25 nations
combined, unless of course USA is at war with the world.

Best way to defeat USA is peace, no war no profit and no more war on a
credit card.

Socialist-statism corruption is a great idea so long as the credit is
good and other people pay for it. When the credit runs out and those
that pay for it leave, they can all share having nothing but
unemployment, debt and discontentment.

He makes a hell of a lot more sense than the pair of Canadians currently
posting. And needless to say, he's a lot smarter and more truthful than
you. What was it that he said that got your nose so far out of joint?
