So, Gregg, do you think "Jewish people" are good businesspeople because
there is something inherent in the Jewish religion that genetically
encodes them to be that way, even though religion is cultural?

It is cultural.
Most of the cultural factors are positive
Education
Low alcohol and drug use
Responsibility
Family structure
Community networks
Tradition.

He is probably saying that after Jesus threw the money changers out
of the Temple, they moved into the Vatican.

It is not shocking since the church was the government in most of the
world until fairly recently.
The only real competition before the renaissance was the Romans

Wow.. I thought you guys would better understand this being all worldly
and stuff.... Look up the laws governing banking and the church, it had
to do with lending money or borrowing money and church members. This as
frowned upon and not allowed. So anyway, Jews were used as
intermediaries, kind of like banks and they made the decisions of who to
lend to etc. That's how the whole stereotype of Jews being pricks with
money got started... or at least a good part of it...
