A video on some new engine technology. Very interesting.

Not likely. Nobody in their right mind wants the trouble and expense
of this sort of complexity in a daily driver.

I'm sure the prototypes are very expensive. If adopted, the price will come way down, especially
given the other cost bennies - if true.

===

Most of the complexity is in the computer control software and that
technology is already commonplace and reliable. The projections of
30% more torque, 30% less fuel and 50% lower emissions are very
compelling if they can manufacture it at a reasonable price. It
wasn't that long ago that multi-port electronic fuel injection was
regarded as too complex and expensive and now it's widely used. Back
in the early 1950s overhead valves were widely regarded as too complex
and unreliable. All it takes is more engineering development since
the advantages of variable valve timing are intuitively obvious.

If not, don't buy an outboard.

Bertbrain has no boat and never has personally owned one. But his daddy did.

You have been boat-less for some time now. Did the IRS finally catch
up to you?

I have a Honda Prelude but I am not sure the hood has been open more
than a few dozen times in 10 years
I am not sure what is in there. ;-)

I just put gas in it and drive it.

Hopefully you have a 2.0 VTEC engine. My biggest problem wat the CV joint boots.
