I forget where we re-connected to I-95 but it was probably in Virginia. Not a time saver by any stretch of the imagination. Lights and stops all along the way. But, it was a refreshing change from I-95 with a lot of local "stuff" to view. It's something to consider. We have time to make a stop at either Charleston or Myrtle Beach. --------------------------------------- It was .... shall we say .... Interesting? Not a route I'd take everyday but it was different. Glad we did it once. I am still planning a trip down to the Isle of Palms area in South Carolina to see my son and his family. Mrs.E. flies down, but I don't do airplanes anymore unless absolutely necessary and even then with much hesitation. Haven't made the drive south on I-95 for a few years now and am not sure I am looking forward to it. I've heard horror stories. Try to hit the stretch between DC and Richmond between 2 and 4 AM. It's gotten to be a real bitch. Took us almost three hours to get here from Richmond. It used to be a 90 minute trip. John (Gun Nut) H. -- Hope you're having a great day! |
