![]() -keith mtn. view ^^^^^^^^^ Ask around over at Sequoia Yacht Club on the weekend (http://www.sequoiayc.org/) -- really nice folks and always willing to help someone get started. It's an all volunteer club, so when you do get employment the annual fee won't break the bank :-) Thanks, that's excellent! Spinnaker is a bit rich for me now. -keith |

$1295 per year membership fee's???????
Do they have any members at all? The two clubs that I belong to, The Blue Water Club and the Hervey Bay Boat Club, both cost less than $30 per year membership each. I also store my boat at the Blue Water Club for the extra amount of $100 per year. But that is in Australia, not the USA. -- Garry Beattie Ocean Spirit Trailer Sailer & Small Yacht Cruising Emagazine www.ocean-spirit.com "DirtCarshr" wrote in message ... $1295 per year club-membership? -keith mtn. view |

Geoff:
If you and your lady love happen to be in the San Juan Islands any time soon, I'd be happy to have you aboard my old dowager Westsail for an afternoon sail. Happy Holidays in the meantime. Dick Behan "Geoff Jennings" wrote in message et... I have a favor to ask. My fiancée loves to sail, she doesn't have a ton of experience, but she really enjoys it. I have been sailing since I was a young kid, and have quite a bit of experience. We're both nice, friendly people. I wanted to take her sailing this weekend, Dec 13 or 14th, as part of her birthday celebration. Unfortunately, I'm unemployed right now (Interview Tuesday!), and, after checking prices on charters, I simply can't afford it. So, here's the question, is anyone sailing out of Dana Point, Newport, or Long Beach that would like an extra set of hands on board this weekend. We're good company, and I can promise a really, really good lunch and some nice beer for anyone who wouldn't mind us tagging along. Again, also I'm a pretty experienced sailor, so I can definitely be put to work. If it were Sat, we'd need to be aback by 4 or so, so a morning sail would work best. Sunday we've got all day. I don't know how many, they have but that's for the low-level membership plus all the benefits like free unlimited day use of Santana 22s, reciprocal rates, etc... It's $1695 and $2195 for higher grades, bigger boats. It's not considered an everyman's sport around. The two clubs that I belong to, The Blue Water Club and the Hervey Bay Boat Club, both cost less than $30 per year membership each. I also store my boat at the Blue Water Club for the extra amount of $100 per year. The other place I was pointed to has more reasonable membership prices. But that is in Australia, not the USA. This is the USA - but to some here it's not the USA, it's a state of mind. -- Garry Beattie BayAryan |

Do your fiancée a favor and get a job. Stop mooching and stop being so irresponsible. You sound like a loser to me. And WTF are you to tell me I'm being irresponsible. Using my growing thin _SAVINGS_ to pay for a sailboat trip would clearly be irresponsible, looking for another way to do it hardly is. I hope you're a troll, if not, you must be a very bitter, sad individual. Geoff |

Thanks for the idea Rob, my time is a bit full, I've been putting lots of
time into finding a job, and working some odd and ends in the mean time. Once I've got a job again, we've already got our eyes set on the local sailing club. Geoff "Rob" wrote in message m... Geoff, You should go down to the local Yacht Clubs and look into crewing on someone else's boat for races. There are always a few boats that need additional crew for racing. It might be tough at first but once you get in with the right group and boat it could really work out well- and they sail every week. I did that for a while before I bought my boat to learn the ropes- so to speak. Where in So. Cal do you live? Good Luck! Rob "Geoff Jennings" wrote in message . net... I have a favor to ask. An interview means little. Write back when you
have a job and are capable of supporting a wife. Until then, you are being irresponsible and treating your future wife like a kick dog rather than a human being. Grow some testicles and become a man. Until you have gainful employ you are just another boy. S.Simon "Geoff Jennings" wrote in message .. . "Simple Simon" wrote in message ... Bwahahahahahhahahahahah!
How's that, Bobsprit? I bet you've never been able to get kill-filed with a mere two posts? Am I the master or what? S.Simon "Geoff Jennings" wrote in message .. . Dude, welcome to my killfile.
