Note to Keith: Drop by SYC tomorrow/Saturday morning around 8:30 or 9:00
(w/foul weather gear in your trunk/boot) and you might just get lucky --
could be that someone needs an extra hand for the Redwood Cup races
going on there tomorrow. Even if you don't get lucky, or have no
sailing experience at all, you should be able to find someone talk to --
just be aware that it might get hectic in the morning due to the races.

If you have a child (8-18) that wants to learn to sail, bring him/her
along and go back west from the club to the next light, hook a right and
go to the public launch facility at the end of Chesapeake Drive (Use
1299 Chesapeake Dr, Redwood City as the destination address for MapQuest
directions http://www.mapquest.com/directions/). Youth sailing starts at
8:30 & high school sailers start training at 10:00. Youth sailing (8 to
high school) ask for Phil, high school sailing (grade 8-12) as for Eric.

Either way -- pop around either of those two places and I'm sure that
someone can get you (or your child if you have one) sailing eventually
for far less than you'd think. Like Garry Beattie (lucky guy) referred
to, there are lots of less expensive ways to get out on the water, plus
most sailors really are good folks & willing to help if you are sincere
about wanting to sail or learn to sail.

P.S. Good luck to Geoff as well -- I hope that you can find someone to
take you and your gal out in SC!

Thanks for those recomendations! And also, good luck Geoff!

Ok, this Simpleton or Simple Simon or whatever is a cloth-eared git. Killfile it (him, her,
whatever). Do not give it food to regurgitate (i.e. "Don't feed the trolls").

I killfiled it on the second comment be cause out of all the posts on this group, it has never
added ANY knowledge, just crap. If the rest of you will killfile it, then nobody has to read
the remarks it makes.

I do respect the rest of the folks here but, by replying to this sanctimonious, ill-bred,
genetically-inferiour, pin-headed slice of trailer trash, I still get to see all the assinine,
moronic comments that this brain-dead sack of monkey-pooh has to offer.

Enough of being Mister Nice-Guy, next time, I'll say how I really feel ;-)

While you may not agree with his opinions - indeed, I know of no one that agrees
with much of his drivel - he has contributed far more to these groups than you
have.

Ha!!

Well that is interesting.

When I have been to the USA no one had ever heard of Rump steak.
One butcher I talked to knew what it was and said that they didn't have that
cut of meat in the USA because they cut the beef up differently. You end up
with a rump roast.

I don't know that your rump would be better than ours as we are very famous
for our beef, but I will admit your BBQ ribs are excellent. (Unfortunately
we can not get them over here for the same reason explained above.)

By the way, it's not Awstralia. That's the way the pommies pronounce it.
It's Australia, or Ozzie to us locals!!

Best regards

Well, you do have a point there Jeff. I'll stick to lurking in the winter and sailing the rest
of the time.

I guess I don't put in too much because most of the questions asked seem to be answered quite
quickly and correctly. There doesn't seem to be much sense in repeating the fine advice put
forth by others.

Anyhow, have good holiday season
