I would say that's probably a very true statement. For the money that little boat I had was costing - depreciation, insurance, maintenance, storage, etc., I can rent a boat for several weeks a year. Having an extremely handy storage place, like your driveway, would tend to make boating a more frequent activity. The last time I sold a boat, I waited about 15 years before getting another. Who knows, maybe this time it'll be only ten years. We're already planning a weeks vacation with the grandkids at Smith Mountain Lake next July. I'll rent a pontoon boat for the week or maybe a ski boat. John H. Of course, if you're not using it, it's best to sell off a depreciating asset. Talk about a guy who can't see the hand in front of his face. Your ever so lightly used vehicle and seldom, if ever, used boat fall neatly into that category. Sell em both. Take a cab. Rent a boat. Use the money you save to fix up your house. |
