Default Wanted: Boating Related Content, Let's Build a Topic List

Everyone here presumably has some interest in boats, boating, fishing,
water sports, etc. We need to hear more about it. Here's a
possible starting list of topics for future posts:

1. What kind of boat(s) do you have or want to have?

2. What are its good or not so good qualities?

3. Where do you use, or want to use your boat?

4. What are some of the interesting places or features of that area?

5. How do you use, or want to use your boat?

6. Do you fish? If so what has been biting recently? Any future
trips planned? What kind of bait/lures do you use?

7. Do you participate in any water sports like skiing, tubing, wake
boarding, kite surfing, competitive sailing, etc. ?

8. Are you doing any maintenance or boat improvement projects?

9. Have you ever built a boat or are you thinking about it?

10. What kind of electronics do you have or would like to have for
your boat? Any maintenance issues?

11. What kind of engines do you have, how many, horsepower, type,
etc. ? Are they running OK? How much fuel do they use?

12. If you could improve just one thing about your boat, what would
it be?

I've probably just scratched the surface here in a few minutes time so
feel free to contribute some suggestions and help grow the list. Let's
see how many possible topics we can come up with. Just puting our
heads together on creating a topic list should be an interesting
excercise that we can all relate to.

It's been tried before, but with **** in here like Krause, and his "
cockhole " Donnie, that's impossible.

Gas or diesel, what kind of boat?

We use about 8 gph towing a dinghy in flat water/no wind. That's with
twin diesels running at 8 to 8.5 kts. In rough water we hoist the
dinghy up on deck.

9.3 L 570ci 350 hp 1150 ft-lb International single straight 6

cruising at a modest 52 kts.
37'4" long, Beam 8' 4", Approx 15t, and towing 3700lb dingy. In rough
water we will sink.

That's more information than some of the scaredy cats in rec.boats are
willing to reveal.

There you go again... Now tell us again why you can't post a picture of
your boat? Maybe it's because of posts like this one.

Anyway Wayne. As you all know I am interested in building my own. My
daughter has started to ask about building a river cruiser, maybe it's
time to whip up those plans I was finishing before I moved up here. I
had just run them by a Naval Architect friends' drawing board, he added
one inch to the transom at chine two and I faired it into the rest of
the hull, and it was ready to go... Then my dad called.

I also have a planked Whaler clone type 20 footer that would make a
great bass boat.. Might just build that one too.

Right now we are consolidating and paying off a couple bills, then we
are selling both homes and moving to the woods to do our own thing. For
me, that may just be building boats again...
