In Wasilla Alaska it might not be that important to have a degree.

I imagine Willow thinks about what her mom says every time she has
that English Lit major asking her if she wants to super size her
Whopper combo down at the Wasilla Burger King.

I do understand why the people out in flyover land think democrats are
elitist snobs and why they are not that successful there.

I also find it interesting that Harry, the supposed "friend of the
working man", is maligning hair dressers. Do you talk the same way
when your barber has that razor on your neck?

That's great, do you encourage your kids to stay away from getting a
degree so that they won't be classified as "elitist snobs"?

Do the Palins still live in Alaska? Thought I read somewhere that Sarah
Scumbag bought a home in the lower 48. Or maybe that was Sprocket Palin.

Please point out where I am maligning hair dressers. The Palin kid
apparently completed a course of education her first time out. It took
her mother five or six colleges before she found one that would grant
her a degree.

Sarah Palin is a glib demagogue, but it doesn't appear that anyone in
that family is even moderately bright.

Your post sounded pretty snarky to me. What was your point?

Just pointing out a bit of American anti-intellectualism. I'm sure the
Palin kids will do all they can with the intellectual gifts and
appreciation of education they have inherited. They cannot be faulted
for their parents.

That gets back to your eastern elitism. You assume everyone wants to
be a hedge fund manager or college professor. There are plenty of
people who just want to get a job and make an honest living. My wife
pays her hairdresser about $80 an hour to get her hair done (in
Fumbuck Florida). That is cash in the woman's home. It is not a bad
living.

Why do you feel obligated to say that is a bad thing?

I do think you may still have a little crush on Sarah Palin. You
certainly seem to follow every tiny detail of what is going on in that
family.

Actually, I don't know why anyone would want to be a hedge fund manager,
but I certainly admire those who do a good job in the teaching professions.

As I stated, I do not fault the Palin kids for their lack of academic or
intellectual achievement. I pay $16 monthly for a haircut, and give the
haircutter a $10 tip in cash. I think my wife pays about what yours does
every three weeks. It's not a bad thing.

My interest in Sarah Palin is in her ability to rev up the GOP base with
demagoguery.

Thanks, ESAFODAD, compliments are always appreciated. I appreciate your support of the Vietnam war
also.

She seems to do more to rev up you guys. I don't know anyone who cares
what she does and the only time I ever hear anything about her is from
you. To the best of my knowledge her main claim to fame these days is
as a Fox commentator
I have CNN on pretty much all day as background noise and they never
mention anything about Palin although they did have a little blurb
about the Bachmann campaign finance thing.

Oh, I enjoy her revving up the morons. It helps ensure Republican
defeats for the White House.

I think, when Greg said 'you guys', he was referring to you guys that get all revved up. Now you're
calling y'all morons?

You need to get a handle on your name-calling.

`You seem to suffer from Snotty's lack of ability to read critically or
think abstractly. Must be your Army training, because I know plenty of
guys our age from backwoods Missouri who don't share your close-mindedness.

That's easy - anyone who enjoys trading stocks and is good at it. It's
an honest living if you play by the rules and the compensation is
right up there with professional athletes and big time
actors/entertainers. What's not to like?
