I had a battery become loose and tip over during a rough passage and have battery acid in my battery compartment. What can I use to neutralize the acid and clean up the mess without ruining my pants. To save your pants, don't kneel in the acid. To save your boat, neutralize the acid with baking soda and water. Add baking soda until it stops fizzing. Add water. Add more baking soda. If it doesn't fizz any more, dump out the remainder (now a neutral salt plus baking soda). |
