I've given several examples of why it's a bad idea to give ANY of your
personal information (including your real name) to anyone in the world
that has internet access. So, here you go, please show me one bit of
data or an article that suggests that it's a prudent and good idea to
give out your name or any personal information via the internet.

I doubt ID thieves are fishing for victims on rec.boats. It would make
a lot more sense to go to the property appraiser's web site in any
state. There is some real information there, particularly if you click
the court clerk link on those property records. Then you get mortgage
information, lien holders, banks etc.

Again, I've given several examples and articles on why it is a bad idea
to give out your name or other personal information on the internet.
Please show me one article or example where it would be a prudent and
intelligent thing to do so.
