I don't even know of any cell phone services that I would want to "steal," if I could do so and knew how. I never exceed the monthly allotment of minutes I pay for, most of my "messaging" is with other iPhone users, so we use iMessage and Apple's servers, so there is no additional charge for that. I don't need to "tether" my iPad. So tell us, Mr. Computer/Cell Phone/IT expert...what " cell services" do you think I am stealing? Oh, and how's your Psychosis Blackmail thingie going? I "jailbroke" my phone so I could customize its looks and add to its features. All my my "add-on" stuff comes via Cydia, and about half of them are free and about half required a payment from me. Meyer is just another "Earl," an asshole who comes here only and I mean only to take flaccid shots at others. He's not even entertaining, as you are in your ignorance and stupidity. BTW, what's the racing queen doing in the off-season now that she's out of high school and not in college? Slobber in the gym, eat good, tweak, tweak, tweak the bike, took on two new sponsors, and she is working with me as the lesion between the Professional Athletes we represent (5 pro teams, along with several top ranked amateurs) on a project that is quickly gaining ground and sponsors... stay tuned... Speaking of "competitive", and you are always asking about our competitiveness, how "competitive" were you in high school, a "sport" you suggested your parents drilled you in all of your life, and you certainly put a lot more time and effort into than my girl ever did in motocross... Among her peers last year in a National Amateur event, she took 8th place... how did you stack up against the competition in High School, I suppose you must have been Valedictorian or close with all the time and resources your parents put into you... or did they fail miserably.. So, how successful were your parents in the path they chose for you? Just doesn't make sense for someone like yourself who must have been at the top of your game, to go to school in bum**** Kansas... What's up with that? |

What's up with that? In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded and ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks. I also played on Little League, Babe Ruth League and Industrial League baseball teams in the spring and summer, and the latter league was semi-pro. I played third base and second base and always had a high batting average. I wasn't valedictorian, but I was a National Merit Scholarship finalist. I also dated some absolutely terrific gals while I was in high school, and I still have several dozen really close friends, male and female, from those days, some of whom are still in the general New Haven area. We have a "reunion" at Milford or Branford at least once a year. Looks like it will be Milford this year, though, since I am not local, I am not on the planning committee, so I don't know for sure. Last year, we actually had a bus tour of New Haven's famous pizza joints, and I have the tee-shirt to show for it. Oh, my mother taught me to read when I was three years old. In kindergarten, I was getting into a bit of trouble, nothing serious, because I was bored. I was "tested" in the first grade and found to be reading at the 12th grade level, and I knew my multiplication tables through the twelves. I had an "adult" library card in the third grade, though the local librarian didn't allow me to check out "sexy" books, but I wasn't reading the Hardy Boys series. My parents did not choose a path for me, other than to stress the importance of reading, writing, and the ability to think. My mom was a voracious reader, and active in local Republican party politics. She never graduated from college. My dad, however, was a college graduate, and a master of many and diverse skills, but was apolitical. As always, thanks for your interest. :) |

Not for this, Unlocking a phone is different than just cracking into the operating system and removing Apple's monopoly enforcer. Jailbreaking a phone or, as you put it, "just cracking into the operating system and removing Apple's monopoly enforcer," isn't illegal, either, although your description of the process is a bit "underdetailed," if you will. What jailbreaking does is open up a closed OS. :) That is what I was going for but I tried not to get too technical. I don't have a smart phone and I don't carry a dumb phone most of the time but my wife is an android wizard with a minor in "I" products. We have a tech support rule here. If it fits in your purse or pocket she handles it, if it is a desktop or lap top I do it. Friends, family and neighbors keep us both busy. ;-) Here's an example of what jailbreaking is all about. Apple's IOS for the "i" devices favors its own web browser, Safari. I don't like it on my desktop, so I don't use it. There's no penalty for using something else. But, on the iPhone, Safari is pretty much hard-wired, and has access to OS and hardware resources that are closed to other browsers that can be used on the iPhone, such as the Nitro javascript engine. This makes Safari "faster" than other browsers on the iPhone, as an example. So, some smart fellow came up with app for jailbroken phones called Nitrous. It provides a legal way for third party browsers, such as Chrome or Atomic Browser, to access the Nitro javascript engine. Worth every penny of the ninety-nine cents it cost. http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org/morei...file=nitrousDp |

Oh, and she did it out of the back of a two door chevy, with a 100 cc bike in the 250 class.... yup, third after 13 weekends and 20+ races... how did you do in high school again??? And she still graduated early, and based on your college of choice, probably has a better hs record than you.... My college of choice? What was your college of choice? |

Slobber in the gym? Is that a modern age exercise regimen? In high school, I was on the swimming team for three years (butterfly and breaststroke) and was one of the editors of the school's literary magazine, and, of course, a contributor, and, with a friend, founded and ran a classics film club in New Haven that had well-attended biweekly screenings at a local "coffee house" that was nothing like Starbucks. So, I gather you didn't do as well in academia as my daughter in her first year of her chosen profession.. thanks... and being on a team means **** if you spent your time handing out towels.... Really? I have earned degrees from two major universities. Oh, and it was the team manager who took care of the towels. I swam butterfly and breaststoke, individually and on relay teams. Oh, and last year wasn't your kid's first year in motorbike racing. You've been talking about it here for years and years. And 8th in a race is no big deal. What's her overall national standing? And since she is a pro, what have her racing purses amounted to? In my first year as a professional writer for a major newspaper, my senior year of college (I was a full-time student and worked full time on the morning newspaper), I earned about $10,000 in salary, and this was back in the mid 1960's, as a reporter. Not much these days, but back then, respectable. 8th in a national series is pretty good, first time out... how did you rank in your graduating class. Top ten, if not, you got nothing to say to my kid... You're comparing an eighth place in a motorbike race to a class standing? No wonder you never got anywhere. Ok, so you sucked in school, ok... based on your college of choice, I doubt your high school records and grades would equal any of my three girls.. Including Jess, who graduated early with a strong b average... |
