Gun buying indecisiveness!!!

After more talking and looking and holding, I've cancelled the order for the S&W SD9VE and ordered
this one: http://tinyurl.com/aap58hw

Even my wife jumped on the bandwagon after listening to my daughter's father-in-law, who runs
Def-Tac. ( http://defensivetact.com/ ) Even the dealer at Gander Mountain, who describes himself as
an avid shooter, recommended the M&P very highly. So, I should get the firearm in a week or so.

You could get a Baretta 92FS for less than that.

I hope you aren't buying that thing for CCW.

He's going to stick it down the front of his trousers, with the grip
hanging out, and pretend he is reliving Miami Vice. When he grabs it,
he'll probably fire it and, if he had any, shoot off his testicles. You
can get a thumb safety on an M&P, but it is an option.

It's an okay pistol, nothing special, not even within its retail price
range.

If you put that thing down the front you wouldn't have to fire it to
lose testicles, at least not with that sharp appendage at the top of
the grip. I don't know what S&W was thinking, but that makes the gun
silly for a CCW

Why do you think it is a concealed carry pistol? It's service pistol
size. That appendage is called a beavertail, btw. It keeps the slide
from ripping off the skin on your hand as the pistol cycles.

They probably just plate an HK MP5. There are not any other machine
pistols worthy of gold plating.
Most are really crap. The Ingram/MACs are the zip guns of MPs. An Uzi
is reliable but not particularly accurate. The MP5 is the gold
standard.

I got to shoot all of them at the Bullet Stop in "Mayretta" Georgia.
(actually closer to Kennesaw)
The difference is striking. Shoot the MAC first or you will just be
dumping the ammo out unfired and saving it for the MP5.

I am not sure. It was a weird news story, things and faces were blacked
out all over the b roll, they would not give the address or say very
much at all. IIRC, whatever they were selling to these folks (they
mentioned Arab Sheiks in the story) they were manufacturing there too...
Noted how "the shop was hiding, right out in the open" and top secret..
I have a few ideas where it could be, but then again they could have
lied about the town...

Stop being such an asshole. I had a minor problem with my Beretta
shotgun. I called the plant in Accokeek, which is not that far from
here, and I was told to bring the shotgun in for "adjustment." I left it
there and then came back after lunch. One other time, I had the factory
install a shock absorber system. That kind of service is not unusual for
manufacturers of quality guns. The only unusual part of it was that the
plant was local, and I didn't have to ship the shotgun to a service
center somewhere.

You could get a Baretta 92FS for less than that.

Hell, there's a whole pot full of guns I could get for less than
that! Besides, there was a wise
soul right here on rec.boats that yelled at me, " Buy American
Made", or words to that effect.

And, S&W is in the middle of their 'With Thanks to our Nation's
Finest' program which gets me a $50
rebate on my purchase.

Baretta 92/M9s are made right across the river from you in Accokeek
Md.

I've been there three times in connection with the Beretta shotgun I
owned.

snerk Harry gets personal service from Beretta because he owns one!!
But only him, because, as we all know, he's important....

It seems that two other manufacturers of firearms I own also offer
lifetime, free warranty service and I recall that when I had a Glock, it
also offered free lifetime service.

As I said, the only unusual aspect was that Beretta was local to me.

You should try to leave behind this foolishness of yours, in which you
try to pick a fight with everyone here on every possible topic. It makes
you look as dumb as Scotty, and I am sure you don't want that.
