I sent him a check to pick up one for me. I've got one more dealer to check in the area, and unless
this guy's got something much better at a great price, I'll probably stick with the S&W .40. When I
mentioned it to another brother in Seattle, he asked me to get one for him also.

Both brothers are retired cops. Probably don't know as much as 'you know who' about guns, but I'll
trust 'em.

Straw man gun sales...just the sort of activity that hopefully will
become illegal nationally. It's also not surprising to me that you are
buying a pistol without ever trying out a similar or identical model at
a range.

The S&W is much less than half the price of the Sig Sauer. I could get the S&W for about$329, the
Sig for about $860.

If your talking about a p232, that's about double what they go for...

Of course they'er out of stock, and probably will be for quite a while.

Most FFL's in Maryland won't let you receive a gun through them that
they can sell to you themselves.

There's an old New York joke that goes something like this:

"If I was out of stock, I could sell it to you for a good price also."

That's too big and heavy for a concealed carry gun in my opinion, and
for home defense you're probably better off with a revolver for
reasons of safety, simplicity and reliability.

For concealed carry I'd probably get something small and lightweight
like the Kel-Tec P-11 9mm sub compact or the S&W titanium 38 special
revolver with a 2 inch barrel. I know a guy who manages a gun store
in Ft Myers who could have any concealed carry gun he wanted. His
choice is the Kel Tec in a pocket holster.

Damn, like the looks of the P-11 too. I think that thing would take care
of a coyote for sure. Looks like you could fit three fingers on it with
a small hand unlike the Ruger .380 which only gives you two fingers on
the grip.

I won't be doing much concealed carry, except maybe in the glove box. I want a full size pistol, not
a compact.
