What does that have to do with your assertion there ghettos are a result
of affirmative action?

Who ever said affirmative action?

"War on poverty" same thing. You are wrong though, and wont' admit it.

Are you saying affirmative action and welfare are the same thing?

I will let your liberal buddies bitch slap you for that.

Now where the hell did "welfare" come into this????

The war on poverty was a welfare program
Affirmative action is a civil rights thing involving educational,
employment preferences and predated the war on poverty by 6 or 7
years.
A rich woman or minority still can benefit from affirmative action.

But, once again, YOU
said that ghettos were a result of the war on poverty. You are, and were
wrong.

There were always pockets of poverty in big cities. They got much
bigger, gobbling up larger swaths of the city after the government
started throwing money at them.
What has the war on poverty actually fixed. There are more poor people
now than there were in 1968 and they are multi generational,
unemployed families that are trapped in the cycle of poverty.
They make more money on public assistance than they could make working
at any job they are qualified for.,

As I said, your posit that ghettos were the result of the war on poverty
was wrong.

Actually it had to do with the absence of light in a portion of one's digestive tract.

More likely, it had to do with your black soul. You have followed your
party from right-wing conservatism to bat**** crazy right wing
anti-American racism. You seem to be on the verge of full-blown dementia.

There have been ghettos for a long time. Jews in Europe were in Jewish
ghettos. Here we did not have the extreme poverty level ghettos until the
civil rights act of 1964. Had lots of great items, but paying more per
unwed mother per child was not one of the high points. The blacks were
poorer than whites, but they overall had jobs. Most of the blacks in
Detroit, DC, and other large cities jobs now are collecting welfare. And
have a huge school dropout rate. 6x-7x middle class kids. Chicago has
something like a 74% drop out rate for male blacks. How are they going to
even get a job at McDonalds with that background?

Your claim that we did not have extreme poverty until the Civil Rights Act

If you are talking about the 50, we thought ghettos were in Nazi
Germany, Jews lived in them and it made Anacostia look like Beverly
Hills.

The use of the term to describe US cities was promoted in the 60s. The
first time I really started hearing it in common use was in reference
to "ghetto uprisings" in 68 where leaders were trying to say they were
like the Jews in Warsaw.

I think the first time I heard the term "ghetto" in relation to a
community in the United States was in the mid 1950's, in regard to
Chelsea, Massachusetts. It was an industrial employment center in those
days, and there was plenty of inexpensive housing right in the area. I
had a great aunt and uncle who lived there for decades, until they moved
out to Revere. Most of my relatives lived in the Greater Boston area, in
Boston itself and in Chelsea, Salem, Lynn and Swampscott. I took a lot
of train trips on the NHRR to Back Bay Station.
