How do you know that you've spent more time in DC than he?

I know that is bull**** since I lived in Southeast DC for 14 years

and went to school in Northwest for 4 more. My office at IBM was 1120

Connecticut Ave for 10 years and I worked at the education center at

1801 K but I just let Harry go on that one.

I am sure I spent more time visiting friends in DC after I moved to PG

county than Harry was there.

I've lived and worked in the DC area for 35 years, total.

You are nothing short of a ****ing liar. You lived in Florida. Your tax

cheating records indicate such.

Most of the time you are an idiot, but you nailed that one. The FL state tax (lack of payment) records don't lie.

Hey, if it keeps racist white trash like Herring out of DC...

That is really only 3 years old in statistical terms. The FBI
reporting is 2 years behind.

I doubt it really looks any different today. That map could be 30
years old and it would still look about the same.

I bet if they went out East of the Anacostia river the whole map would
be a hot spot, all the way out past the beltway.

Many parts of Anacostia are pretty grim.

Why?

About once every two weeks, I
have to drive to DC rather than take the commuter bus or the Metro, and
many times I drive along Pennsylvania Avenue into and out of the city,
right through Anacostia. I've also Metro'd in to see the Nats play, and
that goes right through Anacostia, too. Over the years, I've been on
commerical and large scale residential jobsites all over DC, including
Anacostia. I've parked in Anacostia and walked several blocks to job
sites when onsite parking wasn't available. You'd think by now I would
have seen a few reasons for those hot spots, eh?

Lucky? Other folks have seen the reason!

The only places I've been shot at in the United States have been in the
South, once in Mississippi and once in south Louisiana, and both times
the shooter was white, and the areas were rural.

Ha... We have a road through our area that goes from town to town. When
I was a kid you might see twenty cars there in a day. Now it's not
uncommon to pass twenty cars going the opposite direction in the one
mile length I travel on... I found a map a while back from 1955, there
were about 20 streets in town, now there are over 200... In the last few
years really the traffic tieup from Hartford rush hour has made it all
the way to our exit afternoons. It's not bad but you do slow down to
about 35-45 for about a mile or two.

It is, indeed, though the traffic does keep moving pretty well, even
with the lights, until Prince Frederick, where it jams up for 10 minutes
or so between 4 and 7 pm. That's why we use the commuter bus and let the
bus driver deal with the traffic.

Even with our rush traffic, though, we're still in a much nicer area
than your overcrowded, heavily polluted, gang-and-racist-infested part
of Fairfax County.

Most tourists will stay in Maryland or Virginia and hop the Metro to

Gee, that's not what the cite says......

Why would a puff piece about how wonderful DC is tell the truth about
how many people don't stay there?
You also notice they said there were not enough hotel rooms and that
DC was $322 million in the hole (in spite of huge federal infusions

We stayed in Maryland and took the rapid transit in to DC in the late 80's

Your hot spots map from five years ago?

"This is a hot spot map for robberies during 2007 in Washington, D.C.
The Adams Morgan-Columbia Heights area, U Street/Shaw, and Chinatown
have experienced gentrification in recent years, with homicide rates
going down."

Harry's been shot at multiple times. I wonder what the real reasons are?

I've been all over the south, sometimes for a couple of years at a time,
and I've never been shot at.....

That's because you are a pussy.

I'm a pussy because I've never been shot at in the south??? Please, be
specific, do tell why. I'm not the one who said here that he's so scared
at his own house that he answers the door with a weapon in hand. I'm not
the one here who claims something but is too much of a pussy to back it
up. I'm not the one here who hasn't paid his taxes and debts.

The first time, I was with a bunch of classmates from college, and we
were registering black voters.

Please show us the police report.

The second time, I was helping several unions in an organizing drive
aimed at supply ship employees.

Please show us the police report.

Yup, my bad on "Va too",

I knew guys coming in from as far away as Fredricksburg and Manassas
(before 66 and the toll road).

The northern DC 'burbs extend to Fredericksburg. It is a hellacious auto
commute to the District from there, and takes up to three hours in the
AM, I've been told. I have a buddy who commutes in from West Virginia,
but he takes the train. It usually takes under an hour from here to the
Library of Congress on the commuter bus, and that's not too bad. On our
route, there are 17 commuter buses each way on weekdays, beginning in
St. Leonard. The route is Route 4 to Suitland Parkway. Usually the
traffic flows smoothly until about two traffic lights before Suitland on
the way into DC. It's $3.90 each way if you buy a 10-ride ticket, a
great buy, because that wouldn't even cover the gas you burn in your own
car, and downtown DC parking typically is $20 a day. I'll have to look,
but if memory serves, the buses hold 50 passengers and most of them are
99% full. There are also other bus routes in this area, but I've never
taken one of them.

Not combat. Was at the Novato, CA police range. Where the AF used
pistols, as opposed to the base range with rifles. Hamilton AFB. I fixed
radios and radars. Was at both Hamilton and Travis, about 40 miles apart,

It's an advertisement. Notice the reference to the 'backyard'. That's where folks stay - Virginia
and Maryland. It's why the Metro is so crowded whenever something is happening in DC. Folks are
coming in from MD and VA.

Most federal employees live in Md and DC too. That is why traffic is
such a nightmare. They now try to get as far away from DC as they can.

Absolutely! ESAD, you live in the nicest area in the entire Atlantic seacoast area!
