South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will name Rep. Tim Scott(R-SC) to
replace the retiring U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC).

That will make Scott the first African American from the South to serve
in the U.S. Senate since Reconstruction -- and the only
African-American
senator to serve in the upcoming 113th Congress.

Scott's personal story is a remarkable one: While working at
Chick-Fil-A, he met a movie theater manager who took him under his wing
and taught him the values of conservatism and hard work. Long a poor
student, Scott turned his life around and ended up getting elected to
the South Carolina State House and then Congress."

Love it! :

Just another right-wing asshole.

Seems as if took a Republican too look beyond color.

Institutionalized racism is a DNC thing, regardless of what the MSM says...

It's racist to call a right-wing asshole an asshole? Please explain.
Scott is just another right-winger. His skin color is not relevant.

First thing I heard about him is that he wanted to have a statue
erected in honor of all aborted fetuses.

Sounds like your run of the mill idiot from the south.

Yup. These guys get elected on the basis of how much false piety their
even dumber constituents will swallow. The crazier and more right-wing
they are, the better their chances. Their fear of human sexuality and
the possibility of power in the hands of women is palpable.

You are obviously listening to voices in your head. You obviously
don't need a firearm.

Fact.

Scott was a promoter of the Unborn Children's Monument Commission and
co-sponsored a bill to erect one in South Carolina. The bill, explained
language on Scott’s state legislator site, would lead to the erection of
a “monument on the statehouse grounds to remember all the aborted babies
in South Carolina.”

The bill Scott co-sponsored was the SC H 3527 Joint Resolution,

"A JOINT RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE SOUTH CAROLINA UNBORN CHILDREN'S
MONUMENT COMMISSION TO ERECT A MONUMENT ON THE STATE HOUSE GROUNDS AS A
MEMORIAL TO SOUTH CAROLINA CHILDREN WHOSE LIVES ENDED BEFORE THEIR
BIRTH AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMISSION AND TO
REQUIRE PRIVATE FUNDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THIS MONUMENT."

That's just one example of the right-wing craziness in which Scott
has participated and is participating. He's perfect for a completely
backwards state like South Carolina or, of course, the job of ayatollah
in Iran or Afghanistan.

So, yes, Scott wanted to have a statue erected in honor of aborted fetuses.
