It's actually more of a tax at this point since the money is not set
aside like it would be in an actual retirement plan.

But it's backed by the full faith and credit of the United States
Government which should be better than any insurance company or
financial institution. Do you have doubts?

generation may not want to pay for the previous generations overspending.
