Have you ever heard of the food chain? Is the "food chain" supposed to include such things as mercury and other heavy metals? Fecal matter? PCB's? |

The most troubling thing in the Chesapeake is nutrients from farm runoff. That is what causes the dead zones. There is an extensive monitoring program (Eyes on the Bay) but they are not doing lab samples. It is also not a certified program. In that regard this backward southern state (Florida) is way ahead of them. Most of the problems in the Chesapeake Bay come from Pennsylvania and New York. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...ges-mediawiki- sites.thefullwiki.org/10/3/5/6/867086710737858.jpg&imgrefurl=http://top- topics.thefullwiki.org/Chesapeake_Bay_Watershed&h=286&w=315&sz=35&tbnid= 1MEm-fHQpQan7M:&tbnh=90&tbnw=99&zoom=1&usg=__ 8ty1NFs7Cr2PCBJ7smninMVhoRY=&docid=GTwyXjcB9CfpRM& sa=X&ei=ST2kUNPNBMWJ0Q G0rIG4CA&ved=0CDwQ9QEwAg&dur=335 |
