Is there any evidence that supports the notion that a CZ pistol is
better than it's Sig equivilent?



I'm not sure what you mean by better. SIG and CZ both make fine quality
firearms. They have significant design differences. For one thing, I
think the CZ slide/frame mating is tighter than the slide/frame mating
on a SIG but I am not sure that impacts accuracy in any measurable way.
SIG makes some fancier models, but I am not sure they shoot better than
their plainer models or the corresponding CZ offerings. Maybe if you
qualified your "better" question it would make the response easier. I
will say I see a lot more CZs in competition than SIGs.

I am going to buy a CZ 97B in .45 ACP soon and use it as my carry
defense pistol if I can. I don't much like the .40 S&W round especially
in a polymer pistol like my Glock.

In a polymer pistol like my issue Glock, the 40 S&W has a snappy and
sometimes painful recoil and is annoying if you spend a lot of time at
the range. That's less of a problem in a steel gun, but I don't have one
in that caliber and I don't want one. Also, the 45 ACP is a lower
pressure round and that makes a big difference in enclosed places. It's
easier on the eardrums, there is less flash, so it is easier on the
eyes, too.

I'm not claiming the 40 is less of a round. You hit a bad guy between
the nips and he's going down, whether you are shooting a 9, a 40 or a
45. My backup piece is a small 9. There's no real right or wrong in the
choices. For me it is a personal preference.
