Because your gated community is so very often under attack? Do you wear hoodies while black and wander the neighborhood? Hoodies are optional. Wandering the neighborhood in the rain. OK, but don't be pressing your nose against car windows. While black? Is that optional? I thought you either is or you isn't. |

Yeah, more guns means less gun crimes.... that's stupid. ------------------------------------------ Probably true though. When I was in Alaska a few years ago, I was told by an Alaskan that the state was a very civil place. With the amount of firearms that were possessed and most people carried, that you just did not get in fights. In the Old West days, the most dangerous area was NYC. There were places near the waterfront where the cops never went as it was too dangerous. Other than a few border towns in the west, it was pretty quiet crime wise. Bad guys did not live long prosperous lives. Someone ambushed them. |

William Pettry had flown from Milwaukee to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Bears game against the Jaguars with his best friend, looking for a good time. He never made it to the football game. His life ended at a bar early Sunday when police said a Jacksonville man, Matthew Hinson, 27, slashed Pettry’s throat “cold-bloodedly” after he talked to Hinson’s wife. === When I was a kid my grandmother always had an answer for this sort of thing: "If you hadn't been there, it wouldn't have happened." It's a tragic loss for Pettry's family and friends of course, but let's put things in perspective. He was from out of town, drinking in a local bar, looking for a good time, and probably flirting with some other guy's wife. There's no excuse for murder of course but if he hadn't been there it wouldn't have happened. |

Do you need more? Yes, I want data that proves that more guns means less crime. |
