As bad as it is, I hope that turns out to be the case. Turns out the
house he was "breaking into" was his Aunt, his Fathers Sister. Would be
pretty bad if it turned out to be a prank, or other family drama.

I am not suggesting it was, and I haven't heard anything that would lead
me to believe that... I do wonder what kind of "weapon" the kid had, and
why he wouldn't know his dad would probably be armed with a firearm... I
know I would not have "moved toward" a known armed person, I would yell,
"dad, don't shoot".... Just sayin'.

I imagine it was his burglary tool. Creeping around at 1AM in a mask
is far from a prank. I probably would have given him a chance to
identify himself and give up but that would be a one time offer with a
1 second expiration date.
I assume we all know about the Tueller Drill,

You want to justify the father's actions. Think the father is looking
for justification?

So every kid who ever stole something should be shot dead? Or just this
kid?

It is an occupational hazard for "night time" burglars.

I'll ask again, should all kids who are out at night be killed?

local police and have him experience the reality of being in jail.

You assume the kid's only motive was to steal this woman's Ipod

I find it troubling that he is going into a neighbor's home wearing a
mask at 1 AM when he knows there is a woman in there alone.

I am sure there is more to this story than we know right now.

How are you so sure of that?

Really? Think this 15 year old kid had chosen burglary as his
occupation? He's in the 9th or 10th grade in a nice neighborhood with
nice schools.

Occupations aren't usually chosen at 15. Stupidity is customary in a
15 year old. You have him cast as a thief without knowing a bloody
thing about him or the circumstance.

Your broad brush painting needs a rethink.

And he came at his father with some sort of weapon, according to the article. Drugs?

What weapon, why would any kid approach his dad like that in the first
place... I would assume the kid knew his dad had a firearm...

My money is on pliers or a crescent wrench. He probably tried to
scare his father away so he could run away, not considering the fact
that his father might actually shoot.

15 year olds aren't known for their brilliant decision making skills.

Ah, the back peddling begins. You were alluding to a sexual battering
but were cut short by the revelation that it was his aunt.

Funny how people's brains immediately rush to construct a storyline
that fits the rationalization of their life and perspective.

You are never gonna' change any minds here with your agenda driven
trolls.... get over it...

Surprising analysis from the freak. My bet is on family trauma with a
kid who's half out of his mind and acting stupid.

Mistakes with guns aren't easily taken back.

Don't even try to justify your trolling. You actually used this awful
event to troll posters here (me) earlier in the thread.. Figures...

So he should be killed? And where did you get the notion that he had
break-in tools?
