Hey there, rec boats gang

Take a break from politics for a minute and check out a very beautiful
place to go boating!

Use the Z key to zoom in, and arrow keys to slide up, down, left, and
right on the pages.

This is where we headed on 9/11 from our anchorage at Stuart Island.
Got a call from a relative that morning to turn on the TV and, based
on Seattle being a strategic target, decided that Galiano sounded like
a more prudent choice.

Beautiful destination, whether by boat or car (lots of B&Bs).

Lots of beautiful area there. Even for trailer boats. I have stayed in
Ganges on Salt Spring Island, and then traveled the area via my 21' boat.

Ganges suffers a sewage problem during the summer. Don't know if
they've done anything about it but cruising into that harbor can be a
nose opening experience.

Why in the summer? Is that the rainy season there?

----------------------------------
I did not notice it 2 years ago, but maybe it is all the large cruising
boats that do not use pump outs. I know that Victoria is on notice for
dumping raw sewage in to the ocean.

Ah, got it! I wasn't even thinking about boats dumping.

Ganges does the same, at least they were still doing it last time I
was there. When the temp heats up, it's a smell to behold.
