This is where we headed on 9/11 from our anchorage at Stuart Island. Got a call from a relative that morning to turn on the TV and, based on Seattle being a strategic target, decided that Galiano sounded like a more prudent choice. Beautiful destination, whether by boat or car (lots of B&Bs). |

I have stayed in Ganges on Salt Spring Island, and then traveled the area via my 21' boat. |

Don't know if they've done anything about it but cruising into that harbor can be a nose opening experience. |

Is that the rainy season there? ---------------------------------- I did not notice it 2 years ago, but maybe it is all the large cruising boats that do not use pump outs. I know that Victoria is on notice for dumping raw sewage in to the ocean. Ganges does the same, at least they were still doing it last time I was there. When the temp heats up, it's a smell to behold. |
