That's not the way it sounded... But really, do you think we don't know?
I have been to several fund raisers already this year and it is what it
is. But there are ways to mitigate the possibility of injury, one is to
ride smart. Jess was running second and third in the NESC early this
season, but couldn't stay on the bike at that pace so she got smart and
backed off about 4 seconds a lap... Now we have dropped out of the
series to go back into seclusion and do some more work so we can come
back stronger and faster next time.

That's just nonsense. If it were true, there never would be any serious
accidents involving really professional motor racers because they surely
know how to mitigate the possibility of injury.

That your kid couldn't stay on her bike while trying to be competitive
*after* all these years of riding should be a clue, eh? No offense to
your kid, who is probably trying as hard as she can.
