Another thing about the lake is stay away from the shoreline, even if it seems deep, it's a good way to catch a stump and ruin an outdrive. But it IS a fun little place. |

They fish the drift in rows of boats that do a dance, alternating from the front to the back of the pack as they drift out of the pass. As long as everyone follows the rules it is pretty orderly. Is called the Sunshine Coast. I have not boated that side of the straights but do boat the Vancouver Island side. Is a protected area, as Vancouver Island has 6-7000' mountain range running up the middle of the island. There are some warm water swimming areas as the 13' tides uncover large sand area that heat from the sun and warm the water as it returns. Parksville where we normally stop for a night on our trips will have 70 degree water on sunny days. Beautiful scenery as well as decent fishing. Nice RV parks as well as reasonable B&B's to allow me to suck up to SWMBO. |
