Maybe. But corruption in congress is the major problem ... term
limits is the answer.

I did a little reading. Turns out that since the party was founded
in the mid 1850's, a
total of 34 House Republicans have been caught in questionable
activities from 1856 through 2004.

25 of them have been investigated by the House Ethics Committee since
1975.
Not an enviable track record, for sure.

The only party with a worse record is the Democrats. 68 since 1856
and 56 from 1975 through 2004.
So, the Dems have a 2 to 1 lead on questionable activities on record
with the House Ethics Committee
historical records.

One striking category:

Ended up in Jail/Penitentiary

(usually bribery, scams, other forms of greed)
