Yes you can. Someplace warm comes to mind.
Yep, agreed. Airfare to Nova Scotia isn't cheap, HST is a tax gouge,
booze is insane priced, cold as hell this time of year.
Costa Rica is cheaper, warmer and more things to do.

Man.. you'd better travel a bit more in your own country... whichever
one it is.
The other day the weather service was claiming that the west coast of
Cape Breton had the highest temperature in all of Canada for that day..
On the north shore of Nova Scotia they claim that the water is the
warmest north of the Carolinas. (Northumberland Strait rather than
open Atlantic Ocean)
So for one or two days a year it makes NS a tourist destination? Petty
much like northern coastal Scotland, rocky, damp and cool.

True, but at least I get a few more weeks of summer. And being dry, the
cold doesn't seem to penetrate as much.

That's not saying much. You do realize that it's just because the water
moderates the temps in the winter don't you? Many many places in Canada
have higher summer temps.

Warmest winter places in Canada are British Columbia: Victoria,
Vancouver and Abbotsford, NS isn't even close. In the winter, not one NS
city is in the top 10 Canadian cities.

Regina holds the big city temp record for summer, 43.3C July 5, 1937.
Midale and Yellow Grass, SK holds the 1937 record at 45C. If you want
summer heat, Saskatchewan is the place to go followed by parts of
Manitoba. South eastern Ontario is warmer than NS. Windsor for example,
over 20 days a year over 30C average.

The interior of Newfoundland is generally warmer in summer than Nova
Scotia.

Don't make NS sound like a beach resort summer vacation spot. It isn't.

not to mention the crime rate...

Florida from Orlando to the Keys is unsuitable for human habitation
between April and middle October. Very very hot, very very humid. It's a
little better temp wise in northeast Florida. I traveled all over
Florida for six years, year around, and I dreaded having to attend or
present at meetings in Orland, Tampa-St. Pete, Miami, et cetera, from
April through October.

Is that why no one lives south of Orlando, FL? Oh, what, MOST people
live south of Orlando.....

Man.. you'd better travel a bit more in your own country... whichever

I'm a lot farther south than you, Canuckles.

True, but at least I get a few more weeks of summer. And being dry, the
cold doesn't seem to penetrate as much.

You do realize that Nova Scotia has the warmest average temperatures
of any province in Canada?

It don't matter. You couldn't drag me there with a team of horses.

I couldn't stand to live in the cold, wet, gloomy hell hole. I guess to
those who've never been away from there, it's paradise.- Hide quoted text -

If you are partial to islands... you can't do any better than this!
http://www.cbisland.com/

Yes you can. Someplace warm comes to mind.

Yep, agreed. Airfare to Nova Scotia isn't cheap, HST is a tax gouge,
booze is insane priced, cold as hell this time of year.

Costa Rica is cheaper, warmer and more things to do.

"Cold as hell this time of year"??
When was the last time you were here? 70F today.

Weather is too unpredictable up there in the tundra. 70 today could be
30 tomorrow.- Hide quoted text -

No country for girliemen... that's for sure!

Or Girly girls. The only people who have swim trunks or bikinis in NS
also fly to the Caribbean or central America.

Don, serious question.

Can you think of any good reason to read, much less respond, to the
inane posts of iboaterer-loogy?

He's a cipher, and the only attention he gets is from Scotty or you, or,
when he thinks he can egg him on to do something stupid, flajim.

What's the point in giving him the play?
