I know a couple people who did the Mexico/Cuba/Mexico trip a year or so ago. Cuba is trying to create a tourist economy but they say it as "Super 8" style luxury. You also get the feeling that if you said the wrong thing you might be "educated" for a few days in an even less hospitable "hotel". There are still a lot of places I want to see before I go there. We are kind of running out of western states but we are thinking about Oregon/Washington next.
