For sightseeing on the Med you really can't beat Portofino. Better
yet, go to Barolo in the Piedmont region and try the wine.


I think you're right about me not being ready, but the two guys in our
little group are for sure. My role has be declared to be either winch
wench or dinghy captain.

I wonder what the difference in prices are, but I guess you then have
to get it to the US, pay the duty, etc.

I was thinking I might venture north from Rome. I've never been to
that area of Italy, and I have friends in the Nice (France) area, so
it would basically be in the neighborhood. Looks like it's about five
hours from Portofino to Nice, but we won't be in a rush at that point.

Trying the wine goes without says!
