Default Hard Times on New Melones Lake (Kalifornistan)

I just couldn't seem to do anything right this trip. After the 65 mile
drive to the lakeside bait shop, Glory Hole Sports near Angels Camp,
CA, I discovered I had no wallet and no phone! To add to the troubles,
I managed to cross the downrigger weights at 85+ feet deep and get
them hung up on one another, then cutting my hands on the cables
trying to free them. I also burned out a downrigger in the process.
And having to move to another anchorage at 0300 the next morning
didn't add to my pleasure. To put a cap on this great trip I managed
to fall off the trailer while retrieving the boat. But still... The
worst day fishing is better than the best day working!

Only a total idiot could cross cannonball lines. Seriously. I'll bet
your the kind of " weekend warrior" that drags those lines through
fishing nets, then states " It's not my fault ".

Oh man, sorry for the hassles, Dale. Yeah, it seems like there are
days when all the down luck can come back concentrated. I suppose
thats making up for the days when all went well. I'm sure better days
are ahead.

I always enjoy your posts, Dale

Kiss my ass, jerkoff. When you spend your life talking instead of
doing, of course you are an expert. Trolling at 85+ feet it takes very
little to cross downrigger pancakes. But what would a mouth like you
know about real life?!

It's about time for mama to bring you dinner in the basement, isn't
it? Enjoy.

That sounds like the reason the phrase, "**** Happens" was invented. Sorry about the bad day.

Some folks are just assholes.

Besides, if you take out a net or two, you're doing a service for mankind.

You guys are too kind - with one glaring exception. Bad days fishing
are not really bad days. I agree. BTW, I've had crankers before and
never again! Especially at 85 feet or more for kokes!

Big trip to Wallowa Lake in Oregon planned soon. That's the lake in NE
Oregon where the pending world's record koke of 9.7 lbs. was caught
this year. We're likely too late for the kokanee, but maybe some great
trout fishing. And mackinaw are possible - that would be a first for
me. And then I'll be chasing salmon - our first salmon season on the
Delta in several years is now on but I think it's too early 'til mid
September.
