Uh, it was a 5.9, there will be no problems at the nuke plant. You have no credentials and your opinion on the matter is of no value. News reports say the nukes were shut down and the diesel generators are now pumping cooling water through the plant. Hopefully, there was no damage, but it has been talked about as a possibility at Lake Anna for years. I'm sure there will be a full inspection before the reactors are restarted. |

Uh, it was a 5.9, there will be no problems at the nuke plant. Don't bank on it. 100's of nuke plants in he US use the same one as the Japanese did. One cracked pool and you have a hot bed of plutonium glowing in the dark. USA might actually be in worse shape than Japan as US has more of this design. It is just a mater of time. -- We have the most expensive governments no one can afford. And wonder why the economy is doing so poorly? |

Keep up the design and facilities have been updated long ago. Doesn't matter the sky will fall tomorrow anyway. Go back to cave living and grazing grass but don't build a campfire. Since wearing fur will be outlawed your children will have to evolve their own. |

The oprator was on CNN saying they had no problems in the plant itself and the diesels are running because the utility power failed, not all that unusual. They are not going to have a tsunami so all of the Japanese analogies will not apply. Apparently Obama plans a speech to assure America that he had nothing to do with the East Coast Earthquake. Evidently the quake occurred on a little known fault line outside of DC called "Bush's Fault" LOL! Stolen from another group..;) That sent me right off my chair laughing. -- We have the most expensive governments no one can afford. And wonder why the economy is doing so poorly? |

So, does that mean you're for or against nuclear power? Do you believe it should be closely regulated or should we just rely on the company (like GE) to tell us it's safe? |
