and taking a couple of photos of the tile-roofed cottages and seawall?

One of the cottages used to be ours. I haven't been by in many years,
and have wondered from time to time how the place was doing. Last I
heard, the big place on the point used to be run by some nuns. We we
lived in that area, it was owned by the Poli family, which owned a chain
of movie theaters.
