Just got back from today's Shuttle launch this afternoon. From 6
miles away it makes a lot of noise! Unfortunately. there was some cloud cover, so we didn't get to see the SRB's separate, but it was still fun. Only one more launch left. See it while you can. The founder of the company lives in Port Orange in the same flying community that John Travolta lived in... until he bought his 707. He gave us a golf cart tour and bought dinner last night. Very nice place. Washed all the love bugs off the front of the 'vette and put her up. 1st road trip in her, sweet ride. On topic? Lots of boats, causeways, bridges, and water. And of course, Florida. |

What's not to like? We were docked in Miami last night and had hoped we might catch a glimpse of the launch this morning but no luck - too much cloud cover to the north and too far away. We did catch a night launch from Titusville two years ago and that was pretty spectacular. Beautiful weather today as we cruised north up the beaches. Caught a smallish bonito just south of Palm Beach Inlet, steaked it out, and are now in the process of broiling it for dinner. Smells delicious. |

Biggest surprise to me was the sound. I had always assumed that the crackling and popping noise you hear when seeing vidoe of a lauch was the microphone element being overwhelmed, much like a speaker cone that is being driven too hard. Nope, that's just how they sound! Enjoy your cruise, I'm sure you're having fun. |

Just be careful not to catch a Goliath Grouper, you will be called a racist. ;-) (I doubt Plume will even get that joke) I doubt you'll be able to refrain for very long from denigrating Jews or anyone else who isn't exactly like you. I have not denigrated anyone. You are just trying to start a fight where there isn't any reason to. You made a racist comment about an entire group of people. It's clear you don't get it. |

What "racist comment"? I implied that a fish in a "shool" must be Jewish. How is that racist? Harry did correct me that it is really spelled "shul" but since it is translated from yiddish phonetically the spelling could go either way. You actually get to a Hindu term with that spelling but I suppose I would be just as racist if I made them Hindu fish Well maybe not. You have a very low opinion of east Asians. BTW I am always amazed that you atheists who have no problem saying horrible things about Muslims, Catholics and Christians lose your minds if someone uses "Jew" in a joke, not even an offensive joke. You atheists??? What planet are you calling from? |
