Value calculations show commodities expanding 4 times that of GDP. So if GDP dollar growth is say 3%, and inflation is 12%, well, your shrinking in value by 9%. Forget dollars, they have no immutable value, just a piece of depreciating paper. How many ounces of gold did you make last month? How many barrels of oil or pounds of copper? If you calculate it in hard constant value such as an ounce of gold is an ounce of gold, the US economy is shrinking.
