It was a stunning announcement late yesterday from Fox News. There had
been a veil of secrecy all day as the motorcade arrived at Los Angeles International Airport late in the afternoon. Roger Ailes, CEO of Fox News stepped out of the first limousine and waited as the Libyan Air Force jet arrived at the tarmac. The Fox News cameras started to roll as Muammar Abu Minyar al-Ghadafi stepped from the plane. Ailes and Ghadafi greeted each other warmly. Ailes was the first to speak and said in part: "Muammar, welcome to the United States of America, land of the free and the home of the brave. You will have very big sandals to fill as you replace Glenn Beck. "Glenn has been a stalwart for us; he has energized our base, and brought our followers to a fever pitch. As in all things though, it is time to move on, to explore new boundaries, and never become stale. Muammar, you are our man!" Ghadafi stepped to the microphone, looked skyward and spoke...and spoke...and spoke some more. After two hours he was driven to the Beverly Hilton where he was honored at a cocktail party by actor Charlie Sheen who spoke...and spoke...and spoke some more. He affectionately called Ghadafi a "Camel Turd" and they embraced. Most GOP hopefuls for the 2012 nomination were initially cautious in their reaction to the news. When it was rumored Ghadafi would speak at the GOP convention in 2012, most were generous in their praise. One journalist heard Sarah Palin remark: "I love his outfits!" MSNBC is reporting that Ghadafi's next stop on a U.S. tour would be the Oprah Winfrey show were he will announce a new line of men's clothing: Kool Klothes for Krazy Klowns. It's reported he has purchased Brooks Brothers Ltd to market the new line. In related news, a radio station in Florida is saying Rush Limbaugh arrived at his studio today wearing flowing canary yellow robes and a flamingo pink Fez. He started off his monologue with the following: "Today....we are all Libyans!" http://tinyurl.com/4vlelaf P.S. There's a rumor circulation that Roger Ailes may be indicted this week. If so, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. |
