My new rule is to not read anything "first hand" from "new" posters. I
wait until a few users with brains read the "newbie" posts and quote and
comment on them. If the newbies look promising, I'll watch their posts
for a bit. If they turn out to be the usual assholes with new handles,
they go right into the bozo bin.
