A recent poll of Americans said that while 30% of us want stores to say "Happy Holiday" a full 69% want retailers to say "Merry Christmas"... So my Christmas gift to you Harry is a chunk of truth, use it wisely, it's not often you get a chance when it comes to politics and religieon.. Anyway, the rest of your post was filled with the same kind of dishonest discourse so I snipped it, sorry... Perhaps if you understood the term "non-religious, non-sectarian" in legal and governmental terms, you might figure out what is being discussed. Oh, and society? It means a bit more than what greetings people exchange. Christmas mostly is a retailers' holiday these days, not a day to reflect upon the birth and life of a man many believe to be their saviour. The most Christian thing these shoppers might do in the flurry of consumption is to keep people working and our economy moving. |
