For those who are interested, here are some pictures from several
years ago, mostly from Chub Cay, Eleuthera and the Exuma Islands in the Bahamas. Previously posted but not for a while. http://share.shutterfly.com/view/flashslideshow.jsp?sid=0AaOGTlo0Zt2L6w&a=67b0de21b 344e26fa4dd |

Makes me wish I were twenty again and surveying on the Atlantic Missile Range. What a time. -- Hope you're having a great day! John H |

John H Wayne: You had several pics of limestone cliffs and caves in the Eulethra's and I would like any info on any other places you know of such cliffs and caves (especially caves). Any in the Abacos? Any in the Berry islands? |

Any in the Berry islands? Just about anwhere in the Bahamas that has high ground will also have caves. The ones in the Abacos that I know about are near Little Harbour towards the south end of Great Abaco Island. There are many, many caves on Eleuthera which is half way between the Abacos and the Exumas. Eleuthera also has some interesting "Blue Holes" which are basically overgrown sink holes which connect to the sea underground. The Berry Islands are mostly low and sandy so I would tend to doubt that there are caves there but don't know for sure. http://www.caves.org/pub/journal/PDF...-70-02-108.pdf http://www.eleuthera.com/hatchetbaycaves.html http://www.eleuthera.com/oceanhole.html http://www.eleuthera.com/preachers.html |
