Harold, if you *really* care about improving the "tone", you should take that alleged new boat out for a nice long cruise. It's a good time of year on the Chesapeake to be heading south down the ICW to warmer climes. Watch out for the wakes though and fasten your seat belt - some of those guys with the big boats can generate some really gnarly rolling action. Some of us still have jobs, Wayne. |

Just the idea of not working at something useful is anathema to me. Most of my buddies my age and older from the labor union movement are still working, typically as union staff or officers, or consultants to unions or consultants to service-oriented NGOs, or to companies that do business with unions. A 77-year-old "president emeritus" of an international union, someone I've known for more than 30 years, works three days a week for a couple of NGOs trying to resolve public health problems in emerging nations. He's in Haiti right now. If I take a "nice long cruise," as I posted yesterday, it'll be on the Queen Mary II. My idea of boating obviously is not the same as Wayne's. What's that supposed to mean, sonny? -- I'm the real Harry, and I post from a PC or a MAC, as virtually everyone knows. If a post is attributed to me, and it isn't from a PC or a MAC, it's from an ID spoofer who hasn't the balls to post with his current ID. The proud owner of a 37 foots something or other.
